SCOTLAND: RE: THANKS FROM THE SNC CHAIR

I want to extend my sincere thanks to all of you for your continued support and for the trust you’ve placed in me. Being re-elected to the position of SNC Chair unopposed is humbling, and I will carry out this role to the best of my ability.

I will continue to be a regular visitor throughout branches, continue to engage with the membership via the general updates and offer support and representation to members when called upon.

The current 5-year term, whilst challenging, has went by in the blink of an eye and given the number of challenges we face in both the SPS and State Hospital I am fully aware that this coming term will be as equally challenging.  Alongside my SNC colleagues, the Assistant General Secretary and our local branch committees I know this union will work tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes for our membership.

I extend my thanks to the branches who nominated me, and to those who have reached out in a private way offering their support and congratulations, it is greatly appreciated.

Finally, I want to express my thanks to Phil Fairlie for the smooth and professional handling of this election process.

Regards

John Cairney
