SCOTLAND: RE: SNC CHAIR ELECTION

Circ/01/2026 was issued on the 28th of January 2026, inviting candidates for the post of SNC Chair. Following the closing date of 26th February 2026, we had received only one name seeking to stand for the post.

Following the window for nominations closing at 5 pm, Monday, 9th March 2026, John Cairney received nominations from HMP Shotts, HMP Polmont, HMP Barlinnie and HMP Inverness and Carstairs.  

John Cairney is therefore (re) elected to the post of SNC Chair, and we take this opportunity to congratulate him. The term of office will run until May 2031.
