CIRC 003: YOUNG MEMBERS CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

With reference to POA Circular 54/2025, the Consultative Committee has now been formed, and their first meeting took place on 12th and 13th January 2026.

The POA Consultative Committee’s aims are to;

  • Promote and protect the rights of Young Members
  • Improve the conditions of employment for Young Members 

To this end the Young Members Consultative Committee will meet quarterly. Two meetings will be face to face and two meetings will be held remotely in every calendar year.

As per the Terms of Reference for the Committee, the membership aim is to have at least one member from each area. It was agreed that the following members would have responsibility for the following areas.

These Consultative Committee members will work closely with the relevant NEC Representative in order to meet the Committee’s aims.

Should any young member have any issues specifically related to their young age, please do not hesitate to contact the committee member for your Area.

We currently do not have a committee member for Northern Ireland and we would welcome expressions of interest from any young member in that Area.

Secure Health, Private Sector and Immigration Centres young members should contact the committee member responsible for their geographical area should they have any issues.
