CIRC 065: POA MEMBERS SURVEY 2026

POA Members are reminded of Annual Conference Motion 67/2022 which stated;

That Conference reaffirms current policy as set out in ACM 42/10 and continues not to engage in any staff survey conducted by the employer due to the attitude of HMPPS and the political spin placed on outcomes. Furthermore, this Union continues with the policy of non-participation in any future HMPPS surveys and instead conducts its own survey to act as a direct contrast.

The Motion was carried and is still Policy of the POA.

The National Executive Committee are asking all POA members within Public Sector Prisons in England and Wales to refuse to participate in the Annual Staff Survey and instead fill in the bespoke POA Survey that asks the questions HMPPS are refusing to ask.

It is totally anonymous. The only details we ask you to divulge are your Rank and Job Title and the Prison you work at.

The Survey will launch on the 1st August 2026 and run until 30th September 2026.

Please do not complete the HMPPS/MOJ Annual Staff Survey.
