CIRC 025: HOURS WORKED

At Annual Conference 2024 in Eastbourne the following Motion was carried.

Conference realises our members can no longer sustain the long hours culture which has crept into our workplaces and as a trade union we must ensure our members health and wellbeing be protected at work.

Therefore 3 months after the close of Conference every branch of the POA must provide their NEC rep with a report outlining the unsocial hours worked by our members including Payment Plus and TOIL balances owed to our members.

The NEC, when they have received these will meet and devise a strategy to reduce the hours our members work to ensure they have a good work life balance”.

It is therefore incumbent on all branches to provide their NEC Rep with the report by 23rd August 2024.

Thank you for your anticipated co-operation.

Yours sincerely

STEVE GILLAN
General Secretary
