CIRC 021: POA YOUNG MEMBERS COMMITTEE

The NEC have decided to revisit and form a young members committee within the POA for England and Wales.

Young members make a difference in the workplace by campaigning on the issues that affect them directly, such as job security and training, workplace rights and pay and conditions. As a young member you can take part in all POA Campaigns and the NEC encourages young members to get involved in every level of the Union. 

The Committee will be made up from young members from the following areas.

  • North East and Yorkshire
  • North West
  • Eastern
  • South West and Wales
  • London and Kent
  • Midlands
  • Special Hospitals
  • Private Sector 

The young members Committee will assist the National Executive to.

  • Encourage the recruitment, organisation and participation of young workers
  • Provide a powerful voice for young members
  • Give young members the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in the union.

To become a member of the committee you must be a POA member and be under 27 years of age. Therefore, any young member who is interested please send the following for the attention of Carol Strahan to carol@poauk.org.uk by the 18th April 2023.
