Dear Colleagues
All submissions have been given to the PSPRB, as you know the POA submitted our written evidence within the timeframes as specified unfortunately HMPPS did not adhere to the deadline.
All submissions have been given to the PSPRB, as you know the POA submitted our written evidence within the timeframes as specified unfortunately HMPPS did not adhere to the deadline.
I know that the Chair of the Pay Review Body wrote to the Minister complaining about the lateness of the Submission and I am not sure a response was given or if it was it hasn’t been made public. It was my view last year and remains this year that HMPPS written evidence should be ignored if they cannot follow the timetable. It is totally unacceptable the delay to pay being delivered on time because of delays between HMPPS and Government Officials. When called to give oral evidence we will be making our stance very clear to the Pay Review Body on your behalf.
In the meantime, please find attached our written submission and we apologise for the delay in sharing it with the membership but it was out of our control.
A further circular will be sent out once we are called to give oral evidence. It is anticipated that should be held no later than March 2023.
Please make the submission available to our members and also advise them a copy will be on the POA website with the full Annex’s.
Yours sincerely
STEVE GILLAN
General Secretary
