CIRC 030: CIVIL SERVICE COMPENSATION SCHEME

The NEC want to update the membership on the Civil Service Compensation Scheme (CSCS), and decisions made by Government on the future of the CSCS.

As you are aware, the Cabinet Office has been in consultation with the Unions which make up the National Trade Union Committee on reforms to the Civil Service Compensation Scheme since 2017. A series of revised proposed reforms to the CSCS were agreed by Ministers in Spring 2019 following consultation with both sets of unions and full consideration of their counter proposals but were never put in place.

The Government have now informed the Unions they intend to continue that consultation.

Cabinet Office have written to us to signal their intention to resume formal consultation shortly on reforms to the CSCS with the unions covered by the terms of the Civil Service Compensation Scheme.

We will keep you informed on the progress of the consultation.

Yours sincerely

STEVE GILLAN
General Secretary
