The POA memorial which is dedicated to all ex-forces personnel who have served in our secure settings and POA members who we wish to remember will be unveiled at a private ceremony on Thursday 12th May 2022 at 1100 hours. It is sited at the National Arboretum, Stafford, DE13 7AR.
Local committees may use their local fund to send two representatives to the ceremony. Any POA member who wishes to attend at their own expense is very welcome to do so. If anybody wishes to don full dress uniform, they may do so.
There will be a short dedication followed by the unveiling. Photographs will be taken for a piece in the next edition of Gatelodge. Attendees may find the POA dedication next to the ‘Scouts’ memorial, which can be found adjacent to the Police memorial.
The Arboretum is well worth a visit and attendees may wish to walk around the site viewing a wide range of dedications from a variety of groups. After the ceremony attendees will be invited to join us in the café for tea and coffee which the POA will gladly purchase.
Attendees are asked to arrive on time so there are no distractions during the short dedication ceremony.
I look forward to your attendance.
Yours Sincerely
Mark Fairhurst
