SCOTLAND: PRESS RELEASE

Following a workplace ballot on the NHS pay offer to our membership in the State Hospital we can confirm that our members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of accepting the pay offer.

Phil Fairlie for the POA said “We have a very clear and overwhelmingly supportive response to the pay offer, with 86% of our members voting to accept, from a 70% response rate. We will be writing to Scottish government today informing them of the outcome and look forward to their response on how they intend to proceed.

Given the high profile around this offer at the time it was made there was inevitably a lot of comment and discussion on social media and elsewhere, much of it in relation to the staff for whom this offer is applicable

We would want to take this opportunity for the support and positive feedback from the general public and others about the work that our members do, in very challenging circumstances.
