I have received many emails over the last few weeks from branch officials and indeed members in general. I apologise that I have not got round to answering those emails as quickly as I normally would, this is because my father passed away and along with family members I had to go to Scotland at short notice to visit him in hospital and then to arrange the funeral which will be Friday 28th May 2021, so I have had to prioritise POA work in between, such as oral evidence to the Pay Review Body and other National work but I will get round to answering emails.
I also want to update you on important areas of work and a progress report on all aspects of what the POA at National level are doing to move forward issues on your behalf. Once again thank you for your understanding at this difficult time in not responding sooner to correspondence but I will be fully operational again from next week.
In the interim I would like to thank all local branch officials for the fantastic job that they do on behalf of the membership every day and also to thank our loyal POA members for everything that they do on behalf of the general public and indeed their respective employers.
A full update will be available next week by POA Circular.
Representing over 30,000 Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric Workers, the POA is the largest UK Union in this sector, able to trace its roots back more than 100 years.
