SCOTLAND: RE: SCOTTISH NATIONAL COMMITTEE ELECTION: 1 POST

Please find enclosed the process and timeline for the election of 1 post to the SNC. The vacancy is an interim post, which will run until May 2023.

Given the continued COVID restrictions branch officials who feel unable to safely conduct a branch meeting for the purposes of nominating a particular candidate should use the information contained in POAS circular 02/21 as an alternative method.

It is important to point out that for a nomination to be valid in any election the branch must hold a meeting that is quorate. A quorum is 2 x the committee numbers plus 1. Therefore, for a large branch that is 15 members, and for a medium/small branch that is 11 members.

Any branch conducting the process through the electronic option will require to have sufficient Email responses from members to allow the nomination to be regarded as quorate. 

Attached to this circular is the form required to be completed by branch officials outlining their preferred candidate.
