CIRC 035: INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ MEMORIAL DAY, WEDNESDAY 28TH APRIL 2021

Every year more people are killed at work than in wars. Most don’t die of mystery ailments or in tragic “accidents”. They die because their employer decided that their safety was not that important a priority.

On International Workers’ Memorial Day, we remember those who have lost their lives at work or from work-related injury or disease. We renew our efforts to organise collectively to prevent more deaths, injuries and disease as a result of work. On 28th April 2021 Trade Unionists and Senior Politicians across the country will mark the day and join the minute’s silence at midday. The Deputy General Secretary of the TUC, Paul Nowak will lead a small delegation of senior trade unionists in the minute’s silence at the National Covid Memorial Wall. It will be livestreamed on the TUC’s Facebook page.

Thank you for your anticipated support.

Yours sincerely

STEVE GILLAN
General Secretary
