CIRC 173: OFFICER WYNNE GIBBS HMP USK/PRESCOED

It is with regret and sadness that I write to inform you that Officer Wynne Gibbs has passed away. Wynne was diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID 19). Sadly, Wynne’s condition suddenly deteriorated and he passed away at his home on Sunday 20th December 2020. The coroner will need to formally confirm cause of death.

Wynne joined HMPPS on 29th February 1988 following in his father’s footsteps as an Officer. He started his career in Feltham then served at HMP Swansea, HMP Usk and Prescoed.

Wynne was an active member of the POA Committee where he was Treasurer. Wynne was a larger than life character and a well-liked member of staff.

He leaves behind his much- loved son and daughter. I am sure all POA members send their condolences to his family, friends and work colleagues at this distressing time.

Yours Sincerely

STEVE GILLAN
