H&S: Health and Safety Executive Revises its Criteria for Examining Stress

The HSE has now clarified its criteria for investigating work related stress, the HSE will now consider investigating concerns about work related stress where there is evidence a number of staff are experiencing stress related ill health.

The HSE says it is not the appropriate body to investigate individual cases of bullying or harassment, but may consider this if there is evidence of a wider organisational failing.
Please see attached a guide produced by the TUC for union representatives on how to make complaints about work related stress to the HSE or local authority enforcement agencies.

Yours sincerely

JOE SIMPSON
Deputy General Secretary
