Following the issue of Circulars 09/21 & 14/21 relating to the election of Scottish National Committee Member, I can confirm that Mark Meikle, having received support from the branches listed below, is the sole nominee for the post.

As you will be aware, we have been trying to ensure each branch has an active Union Learning Representative (ULR) for some time, whilst we have been able to get some in place, we still have a void in many branches, which we hope to fill. 

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all POA members.

Provisional parliamentary business has now been announced for this period, including the following that may be of relevance to you. Please note, the following may change at short notice. Parliament will prorogue on Thursday 29 April and return for the Queen’s Speech on Tuesday 11 May. 

Every year more people are killed at work than in wars. Most don't die of mystery ailments, or in tragic "accidents". They die because an employer decided their safety just wasn't that important a priority. International Workers’ Memorial Day (IWMD) 28 April commemorates those workers.
