I have been made aware of the fundraising that the family of the above named have been doing to assist their daughter in getting spinal surgery. Phil Seager at Swinfen Hall is a respected branch official and so far his appeal has raised in excess of £14,000. The aim is to raise £50,000.


The NEC want to update the membership on the CSCS, and decisions made by the Minister on the future of the CSCS. 

As of Monday, 25th May, the Scottish National Committee welcomed three new committee members, John Devine, Karen Ewen and Jim McCabe.

The National Executive Committee met today at its normal NEC meeting and as part of the agenda Annual Conference 2020 was discussed. As you will recall due to COVID-19, the NEC made the decision to postpone the May 2020 Conference until November 2020 hoping that a return to normal later this year would enable that Conference to take place in Southport.

The POA Information Technology advisers are currently in the process of building the new POA Website and Membership Database.


The Prime Minister on Sunday 10th May 2020 took the first steps in easing the coronavirus lockdown in a pre-recorded message stating he wants to encourage people to take more and unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise provided they stick to social distancing guidelines and stay two metres apart.
