As a result of Assistant General Secretary Mr Mick Pimblett taking up his employed and elected post of Deputy General Secretary this has created a vacancy for an Assistant General Secretary.

A new union-backed cross-party parliamentary campaign launched by Kim Johnson (Labour MP for Liverpool Riverside) to insource prison maintenance is asking POA members to provide descriptions of the disrepair and problematic conditions in their workplaces and the impact this has on their work. 

MyCSP confirmed that the Rollback Annual Benefit Statements 2024 for members with a deferred choice underpin 2024 would not be issued.

Radon is a colourless, odourless radioactive gas. It is formed by the radioactive decay of small amounts of uranium that occur naturally in all rocks and soils.

The National Audit Office estimates the Prison maintenance backlog has doubled to £1.8 billion in the past four years. Kim Johnson MP has tabled an Early Day Motion, EDM, calling for Prison maintenance to be brought back 'in-house'.

I would like to thank the membership for electing me as General Secretary for a fourth term of office.
