POA Circulars

The POA NEC would like to remind members that they must keep their death benefit nomination up to date.

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all POA members.

The POA are proud to be enter into a professional relationship with The Coroners’ Courts Support Service (CCSS), an independent charity founded in 2003.

As you know due to Covid-19 the National Executive Committee have had to postpone annual conference. This has not been ideal as our annual conference is part of our democratic process for making policy of the trade union going forward.

The NEC are quite aware that due to the pandemic there has been no annual conference for 2020 and 2021.

The Government is again planning attacks on trade unions, boosting the powers of the Certification Officer including the imposition of a new levy.

As you will be aware the HMP Five Wells contract was awarded to G4S after a bid process involving private sector companies.

As you are aware the NEC are committed to the continued training and development of local Branch Officials.

The Disputes Committee have recently dealt with several DHL disputes from several branches, the majority of these are concerning the “Final Mile” element to delivery.
