If you pay tax, there’s a fairly high chance you’ve paid too much.

As you are aware this research project has been running for a while now and the researchers have asked me to inform you it will end on the 3rd December 2021.

At the NEC on 27th October 2021, the National Executive Committee determined to hold an Indicative Workplace Ballot of our OSG members. This ballot will include all Band 2 members, Prison Auxiliary’s and Night staff in England and Wales.

The Rules and Constitution are clear that under Rule 5, we will have a retired members section and that qualification for retired membership is having been a full member until ceasing qualification for full membership under Rule 4.1.

Gordon Henderson MP for Sittingbourne and Sheppey has secured a debate on the retirement age of Prison Officers.

The POA represents 1300 healthcare workers who work in secure settings and are employed by a range of employers: NHS, prison or private companies/charities.

As you are aware the POA have been making a concerted effort to improve communications with members.

Representing over 30,000 Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric Workers, the POA is the largest UK Union in this sector, able to trace its roots back more than 100 years.
