POA Circulars

In October 2021 HMPPS commenced a Pilot in 7 Establishments for a new First Aid Policy.

It is vitally important that all POA members fully understand the contents of the Permanent Injunction against the POA which was circulated previously. Please read this Circular in conjunction with POA Circular 98/2017 which is attached.

As a member of the POA, both you and your family have access to a first-class legal package provided by the UK’s leading law firm for trade union members, Thompsons Solicitors

The Government announced the outcome of the Pay Review Body recommendations including the PSPRB. The link to the recommendations that Government have accepted is as follows https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/psprb-twenty-first-report-on-england-and-wales-2022

Following the adoption of the above motion, members may apply for 10, 15 and 20-years membership badges providing the criteria is met as set out on the attached pro-forma.

Please find attached NEC minutes for the 15th and 29th June 2022 for your information.

If you pay tax, there’s a fairly high chance you’ve paid too much.

POA is committed to offering members valuable membership services and as part of this commitment we wanted to highlight one of your key membership benefits.

Please find attached letters that are self-explanatory. I know that Government is in disarray but the delay to the announcement on pay for Prison Officer Grades and OSGs is totally unacceptable.

The POA has a proud history of recognising the hard work and dedication of members.

Representing over 30,000 Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric Workers, the POA is the largest UK Union in this sector, able to trace its roots back more than 100 years.
