POA Circulars

The POA held a Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons on 21st October 2024.

The Health Unions met on Thursday 17th October 2024 as part of the NHS Staff side and on the agenda was the constitution of the composition of the Staff side.

This was always going to be a difficult situation as I did not want to appear to be insensitive to the passing of Joe Simpson Deputy General Secretary and advertising the vacant position.

I indicated in a previous Circular that I would keep the membership updated with any funeral arrangements in respect of Joe.

Our campaign to repeal Section 127 of the Criminal Justice Public Order Act 1994 was launched at the TUC with a motion which was unanimously approved by all trade unions who were present.

POA Circular 057/2024 promulgated the timetable for the above election.

On 8th September 2020, the POA National Executive Committee met and determined that due to the complexities of the role our members undertake it was agreed that the POA would set up a Dog Handlers Consultative Committee.

The POA are entitled to send 10 delegates to the TUC Women’s Conference which will be held at Congress House in London.
