The National Executive Committee has approved holding our Annual Conferences for 2025 and 2026 in Eastbourne. These will be 3-day conferences.

Please find attached NEC minutes for the 12th June 2024 for your information.

The research was suspended for a while as the Scottish Prison Service wanted more information before they would agree to our colleagues in Scotland taking part in the study, this has now been agreed and the link for the survey has been reopened.

Following the adoption of the above motions, members may apply for 10, 15, 20, and 30-years membership badges providing the criteria is met as set out on the attached pro-forma.

The Trade Union Reform and Employment Rights Act 1993 require us to provide the membership with certain information about our accounts and finances.

This is a follow up to Motion 71/23 and this year’s Conference Paper 1/2024, which was passed and now needs to be actioned.

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all POA members.

Following the Special Delegates Conference in March 1996, the Executive informed delegates that they would be seeking "two candidates" nominated by branches to attend the TUC Conference annually.

Representing over 30,000 Prison, Correctional and Secure Psychiatric Workers, the POA is the largest UK Union in this sector, able to trace its roots back more than 100 years.
