The POA has instructed its members at HMP Liverpool to return to work, which they have done.
Following a meeting at 07:30 today, POA members at HMP Liverpool refused to enter the prison. The Secretary of State issued an application for an interim injunction claiming a breach of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 s.127.
After the Governor of HMP Liverpool issued a Notice to Staff “Clarification on Use of Force”, the POA members agreed to return to work.
The walk-out has been resolved following positive negotiations and a position reached that suited the parties both nationally and locally.
