National Training Awards

Mersey Care NHS Trust, the POA and Knowsley Community College were awarded a national training award in recognition of their partnership working with domestic service staff at the Maghull site in Liverpool.

Staff members were supported throughout their learning journey by the employer, the trade union and a local college which enabled them to achieve a range of national qualifications.

Steve Gough National Vice Chairman of the POA said:

“The award was well deserved and it proves that true partnership can work at all levels. Training and development are key elements to a modern proactive workforce.

“The TUC and POA are working closely with employers to ensure workers have access to learning”.
