Working Together Review Report (Progressive Workplace Policies in Scotland)

The Working Together Review Report (Progressive Workplace Policies in Scotland), which we have been working on for the past six months, was published on Wednesday 13th August 2014.

It was the subject of a Ministerial Statement to the Scottish Parliament made by Ms Angela Constance, the Cabinet Secretary for Training, Youth and Women’s Employment, who welcomed its publication, committed the government to a full response and commended its contribution to what has to be an on-going, open-ended dialogue. The Report challenges businesses and employers, trade union members & officials and Government to learn, adapt, evolve and improve the levels of involvement and all-round effectiveness in Scotland’s workplaces. It identifies four action priorities: building capacity, on-going dialogue, real partnership opportunities and a willingness to learn from what works.

In framing its formal response, the Scottish Government has committed to give further detailed consideration to the Report and its recommendations, fully engaging directly with business, trade unions and other entities & individuals who can help create and implement progressive workplace policies and practice.

As a valued contributor to the Review, please find the Report attached below along with a web-link to the Scottish Government publication page. We hope you see some of your aspirations for Scottish industrial relations reflected in it and we look forward to the on-going dialogue in the months ahead. Thank you for giving up your time and energy to inform and educate the Review. Your insight was very much appreciated.
