POLITICAL FUND BALLOT 2017
Attached you will find a copy of the Scrutineers report from the ballot we were required to hold to maintain the POA Political Fund. A copy of the Scrutineers report has also been sent to the Certification Officer.
You will see from this report that the resolution was overwhelmingly carried by the voting members in England, Scotland and Wales and that the POA will be continuing to operate a Fund, as set out in the Political Fund Rules for England, Scotland, and Wales.
Every member of the Union has a right to be exempt from contributing to the Political Fund. A form of Exemption Notice can be obtained by or on behalf of any member either by application at Cronin House, local Branch or from the Certification Officer for Trade Unions and Employers Associations, Lower Ground Floor, Fleetbank House, 2-6 Salisbury Square, London EC4Y 8JX.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those members who voted to maintain the POA’s political voice through this ballot.
The ballot in Northern Ireland will commence in due course.
Yours sincerely
STEVE GILLAN
General Secretary
