The TUC LGBT Conference takes place from Thursday 1st  to Friday 2nd July at Congress House, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS.

In 1834, when six farm workers from the tiny village of Tolpuddle in Dorset were sentenced to seven years’ transportation, a massive protest swept across the country. Thousands of people marched through London and many more organised petitions and protest meetings to demand their freedom. The Festival is intended to remember these men and what they fought for.

The Festival will be a diverse mix of music, politics and entertainment for all the family. Tolpuddle favourites, Billy Bragg and Tony Benn will join a lively range of musicians, performers and speakers from unions and politics.

September

The policy making body of the TUC is the annual Congress which meets for four days each year during September. Each affiliated union can send delegates to Congress - the larger the union, the more it can send. At Congress 'motions' (resolutions for debate) are proposed and discussed. These form the basis of the TUC's work for the next year.

Labour's Annual Conference takes place every autumn and is one of the largest and most high profile political events in Europe.Delegates from Constituency Labour Parties, affiliated trade unions and socialist societies take part in between Monday 27th and Thursday 20th September in Manchester.

The Liberal Democrat Conference will open on Saturday 18th September in Liverpool with consultative sessions at 10.00 and the formal opening of conference at 14.20. On Wednesday 22nd September, conference will close with the Leader's speech.

The Conservative Party conference will take place at theBirmingham International Convention Center between Sunday 3rd - Wednesday 6th October. They are expecting around 13,500 party representatives to attend.
