PRISON SERVICE PAY REVIEW BODY RECOMMENDATIONS RESULT WORKPLACE BALLOT
Following the promulgation of Branch Secretary Circular 28/2017 eligible branches in England and Wales conducted a workplace ballot.
NORTHERN IRELAND POLITICAL FUND BALLOT 2017
Attached you will find a copy of the Scrutineers report from the ballot we were required to hold to maintain the POA Political Fund in Northern Ireland. A copy of the Scrutineers report has also been sent to the Certification Officer.
Pensions your opportunity to challenge
The Executive urge all members and local committees to support the legal challenge against the Government Minister and relevant Employer against pension changes.
NEC MINUTES

POA Lobby and Rally of Parliament 5th December 2017
Further to Branch Secretary Circulars 26/2017 and 29/2017, we would encourage members who are attending the rally to contact their MPs in advance of coming to Parliament to try and arrange meetings. Please find attached a briefing paper for members to send to their MP’s prior to the lobby.
POA EQUALITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The POA has a diverse membership, it is important to ensure that all voices are heard within the Union. Our members want the union to help them in taking up their issues in the workplace but often women, black members, disabled members, young members, LGBT members and older members may have different issues of concern.
Branch Committee Structure
The OSG Consultative Committee have requested that we remind Branch Committees as to its composition, to ensure OSG’s have a voice on each Committee within the workplace.
Attendance Management Policy
Below is the link to an agreement between HMPPS and the POA that affords all members protections when being subject to Attendance Management procedures.

BAND 2’S/OSG’S STAFFING SEGREGATION UNITS
It has been brought to the attention of the NEC that OSG’s and Operational Band 2’s are being deployed to staff and supervise prisoners held in segregation units day and night. This is not acceptable and out with policy
