OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES CONTRACT

At the NEC on the 9th of August 2017 the Executive discussed the above and the options for local Governors/managers to opt out of the national OH contract.

If your Governor or manager decides to exercise the provision to opt out of this contract they give six months’ notice and the service they introduce must meet the minimum standards as set out in the attached documentation.

The NEC anticipate that a number of Governors and managers will opt out and introduce local policies. If they intend to action this they should raise an MPC in accordance with PSO 8525. They must also engage in appropriate consultation/ negotiation and seek to reach an agreement with the local POA.

The NEC are keen to share best practise if local OH procedures are introduced. Therefore, local branch officials are asked to forward their local OH policy to the NEC once it is introduced.

Please draw the contents of this circular to all members.

Thanking you in anticipation of your support and co-operation.

Yours sincerely

Steve Gillan
General Secretary
