NOMS SURVEY BODY WORN VIDEO CAMERA’S (BWVC)

On the 9th December at the NEC meeting it was determined that all POA members who have been involved in the pilot of the above should engage in the forthcoming survey which NOMS has commissioned. It is vital that members complete the survey and set out all of the positives and negatives of this equipment.

It has been agreed that the NEC will have access to the returns as part of the Violence Reduction Strategy Committee.

During the debate on this issue the ill-informed and unhelpful comments of the Secretary of State for Justice were fully considered, however it was determined that the outcomes of the pilot were more relevant to the security and safety of POA members.
