Suspension of industrial action - Secure Health Care Services

You will be aware that members in the NHS, including our members in the Secure Health Care Services, have been taking lawful industrial action following the decision of Government not to accept the recommendation of a 1% pay rise from the independent review body.

Following the co-ordinated action the Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt, came to the negotiating table and thrashed out a deal with unions which will now be put to affected members by way of a ballot.

At the NEC meeting on 28th January 2015 it was agreed to suspend the current planned action until the outcome of the ballot on the revised pay offer is known.

Other unions representing workers in the NHS are also taking this course of action.

The NEC paid tribute to the solidarity of our members in the Secure Health Care Services and fellow members who supported them.

Please draw the contents of this circular to your members.

Thanking you in anticipation of your support and co-operation.

Yours sincerely
