Further to POA Circular 86/2014 members will be aware that the TUC has arranged a march and rally in London on 18th October 2014 and that the POA National Executive Committee hope to see as many POA members in attendance on the day as possible.

Members are asked to assemble from 11am on the Embankment with the march starting to move off at mid-day via Northumberland Avenue, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly then onto Hyde Park for the rally.

More details about this event can be found on the dedicated website at: http://britainneedsapayrise.org/

Also available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5XoUjXn4wc is a video from the TUC General Secretary, Frances O’Grady, setting out the main reasons that the TUC, POA and other unions from across the country will be marching on the 18th October.

All POA members are encouraged to attend the march and rally to support the Unions Political campaign. We must remember that we are in the run up to the General Election in May 2015. POA members and members from other sister union’s intend to drive home the message to all prospective Members of Parliament that workers deserve fair pay and conditions for the work they do.

All members wishing to attend should contact their local committee or NEC representative who will be assisting in co-ordinating member’s attendance at this event. In order for members to apply for travel and subsistence all applications should be sent to the Finance Officer Pete Chapple at Cronin House for approval by no later than 30th August 2014.

Please draw the contents of this Circular to all members attention.

Yours sincerely

General Secretary
