Provision of Faculty Time

Following the reduction in paid time off for Trade Union duties in April this year, The National Executive Committee have been monitoring the situation at Local and National Level.

It has been agreed to have this issue as a specific item on the 28th August 2013 NEC agenda. In order to allow the National Executive to have an informed debate and make specific recommendations, can all Branch Secretaries highlight any problems they have incurred at local level in having “paid time off work” to represent members at work. The key areas are as follows:-

• Health and Safety
• Union Learning Representatives (ULRs)
• Trade Union Duties
• Approved Travelling Time
• Home Visits

Whilst this list is not exhaustive all Branch Officials should set out their concerns and forward these to Debbie at debbie@poauk.org.uk no later than Monday 26th August 2013.
