Boots and shoes

It has been drawn to the attention of the National Executive Committee that more and more complaints are being reported in respect of the above.

It appears that some members have complained that the boots and shoes are not fit for purpose.

It has been reported to the National Executive Committee that members have been involved in accidents or near misses, which they attribute to either the boots or shoes. There may also be a statistical increase in slips, trips and falls.

In an attempt to assist the Unions retained solicitors in pursuing legal claims for members, I would be grateful if you could set out the number of complaints or reports, which have been made at your establishment by members due to the provision of this footwear.

Please forward all details to Glyn Travis Assistant Secretary to the POA at legal@poauk.org.uk

Thanking you in anticipation of your support and co-operation.

Yours sincerely

Deputy General Secretary
