NHS Pension Reforms

An enquiry has been raised with us with regards to the proposed NHS Pension Reforms, concerning those members who have reserved rights linked to their Mental Health Officer status.

It would appear that there are some Mental Health Officers who fall outside the proposed protection groups in the final offer i.e. they are too young to be in the 10 year or 3.5 year tapering groups.

If this is the case such members would suffer a disproportionate loss compared to other members who do not have Mental Health Officer status.

In order to establish whether or not this position does exist, and if so how many members are affected, we would ask you to urgently review your branch membership to identify any members who are affected and advise us of the names/numbers as soon as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely
